While performing at Burgundy Peak, members of The Elixir Maidens, a vampire drag queen singing group, find their soul mates. These sexy singers also manage to reunite parted lovers who have burned for each other since the days of ancient Rome. Thanks to Ruby, Scarlet, and Crimson, the vampire nightlife of New York City will never be the same again.

The Elixir Maidens collection includes the following stories:

Ruby

The love between Ruby and Sir Hagen is spellbinding and deliciously sexy.
Anita from Fallen Angel Reviews

While performing at Burgundy Peak with his band The Elixir Maidens, lovely vampire drag queen Ruby attends a performance of the world famous illusionist Sir Hagen. Handsome and charismatic, Sir Hagen astounds his audiences with seemingly impossible feats. Though attracted to the sexy magician, Ruby instantly senses the reason behind Sir Hagens mystical performances and decides that together they can make some magic of their own.

Excerpt:

After saying goodbye to Darcie, Ruby spent the remainder of the night moving from his hotel room to the suite at Burgundy Peak. Fairly spacious and impeccably clean, the suite was created for vampiric comfort. Soft lights. Black and dark purple dicor, and a black tile bathroom with a shower that could comfortably accommodate two with room to play.

By the time he'd settled in, it was just past sunrise and sleep beckoned. He undressed, washed up, and slipped into his favorite black satin pajamas. Smiling with pleasure, he climbed between the crisp sheets and used the remote control to turn on the television. While switching through channels, he paused upon seeing Sir Hagen speaking with a hostess on one of the morning talk shows. It couldn't hurt to familiarize himself with the man a little more before he saw his show.

The magician spoke in quiet tones, his voice touched by a smooth British accent. He talked about growing up in London, the only child of an English businesswoman and a Chinese jewelry designer. His parents died in a plane crash when he was sixteen. It was then he came into the care of an incredibly talented yet little known magician known as Methuselah, which is where he honed his skills.

"Sounds like he made the whole story up," Ruby scoffed, though he had to admit Sir Hagen was rather compelling with his hypnotic voice and strange yet attractive appearance. His slimness accentuated the almost harsh lines of his face with its sharp cheekbones and chiseled lips. Almond-shaped eyes the color of molasses stared intently from beneath sleek, arched eyebrows. Long, brown hair hung thick and straight down his back and over shoulders that were surprisingly broad.

"And the rumor that none of your assistants and workers are sworn to secrecy regarding your illusions is true?" asked the interviewer. Ruby noted with disgust that she was gazing at him with a stupid half-smile, apparently as taken with the magician as the rest of the world seemed to be.

A slight grin curved Sir Hagen's lips and he replied, "Why should they be sworn to secrecy? I have nothing to hide. In my show what you see is what you get."

The reviewer chuckled and faced the camera. "Whether you believe he's a superior illusionist or a genuine wizard is up to you. You can catch his performance from now until December 22nd at--"

Ruby switched off the television and tossed aside the remote.

"Genuine wizard," he muttered, curling up on his side and closing his eyes. For some inexplicable reason, Sir Hagen's exotic face and smooth voice drifted through his mind as he tumbled into sleep.

Scarlet

I enjoyed this book very much because the relationship took work and because their passion plays out so well.
Julie Esparza from Just Erotic Romance Reviews

A rare and magnificent beauty, vampire drag queen Scarlet of The Elixir Maidens is considered a tease. With a past riddled by painful memories, Scarlet has learned to hide behind a self-protective veil. From the moment Andrew Netherby sees Scarlet performing at Burgundy Peak, its love at first sight. Dedicated to his career and with no social life to speak of, Andrew has been waiting for the perfect mate. He knows Scarlet is the one, but can he convince the chestnut-haired goddess they belong together forever?

Excerpt:

Andrew awoke in a warm bed, enfolded in a delicious, arousing scent.

Greg.

He glanced at the sexy singer stretched out on the bed beside him, a half smile on his lips.

"Good evening," Greg said, running his fingers through Andrew's hair.

"A very good evening," Andrew replied. He yawned and stretched. "You must have woken up at sunset." He rolled closer to Greg and buried his face in his shoulder, inhaling deeply. "Did you go out already? I'm catching someone else's scent."

Actually, the scent was so strong it was as if Greg had slept with somebody else. Though they'd only just met, jealousy flashed through him at the thought of Greg wrapped in another guy's arms.

"I got up early and went to see Richie. That's whose scent you're detecting."

Andrew relaxed a bit, though part of him envied Greg's Creator for the years they had already shared and the intimacy between them. To a man who had spent so long alone, these powerful emotions he felt for Greg unsettled him. Last night when he came to Burgundy Peak to deliver a sword, he hadn't intended to enter a relationship. Was it possible to develop such strong feelings so quickly?

"You wouldn't happen to have an extra toothbrush?" Andrew asked, pushing himself to the edge of the bed. He rubbed a hand over his face and yawned again.

"In the medicine cabinet over the bathroom sink."

"Thanks." Andrew walked to the bathroom and brushed his teeth.

He turned on the shower faucet and waited for the water to turn steaming hot.

Greg tapped on the door before stepping, naked, inside. "How about some company?"

Andrew cupped the back of Greg's head and drew him close for a kiss.

"Umm," Greg purred, his tongue thrusting in time with Andrew's. He tasted so good and smelled wonderful -- like woodsy cologne and musky male.

Though Greg wasn't especially tall, his lean body was sinewy. Andrew had felt the strength in it when they'd made love and felt it again now, with Greg's arms wrapped tightly around him, his slender hands kneading the muscles of his back.

When the kiss broke, they stared breathlessly into each other's eyes. Andrew kissed him again with even greater passion. Greg licked the roof of his mouth, then sucked on his tongue, his fangs pricking it gently. The taste of blood sent their desire off the scale.

Crimson

The Elixir Maidens: Crimson by Kate Hill is the third installment from the Elixir Maidens series and I didn't know what to expect but I loved it.
Sheryl from Ecataromance Sensual

It's not always easy being the only straight member of the drag queen band The Elixir Maidens, but the vampire Crimson loves his work and has never had a problem balancing his job with his sexual needs.

Sondra loved The Elixir Maidens performance at Burgundy Peak, but even better was the slow, close dancing she enjoyed afterward with the sexiest man she'd ever met. Shocked when he reveals his true identity, she can scarcely believe she has fallen for a female impersonator. When Sondra is torn between her growing affection for Crimson and loyalty to her vampiric Creator who has little tolerance for any lifestyle other than his own, Crimson must decide between his career and the woman he loves.

Excerpt:

When the kiss broke, he whispered against her lips, "Or you could come upstairs with me. No pressure, of course."

"Oh, of course." She grinned. No pressure except that I can't seem to get enough of you. She cleared her throat and stepped away. "I'm just going to the ladies' room first. Wait for me?"

"All morning if I have to."

Another smile tugged at her lips and she brushed a kiss across his mouth before heading for the restrooms.

She stood, her hands braced against the sink, and closed her eyes, her pulse racing. Though she was a centuries-old vampire who'd had lovers before, something about Richie was different. Usually she kept control around men, but with him she felt like a lovesick schoolgirl. Not only was he physically attractive, but she liked him. Somehow she knew his rather silly sense of humor concealed a lot of alpha vamp power. She liked that. It was a rare quality among ancient vamps who tried to cultivate controlling, mysterious personas.

The bathroom door banged open as Mel rushed inside wearing a curious smile.

"Hey, you're really taking the rebellion act to new levels, aren't you?" Mel asked.

Sondra turned to her friend and wrinkled her nose. "Huh?"

"You and Richie. Close dancing all night." Mel winked. "Nigel would just love it."

"Mel, what are you talking about?"

Mel's smile faded when she realized Sondra really had no clue about what she was hinting at. "I thought you were with him to get back at Nigel, but you really don't know."

"Richie's waiting for me, so unless you plan to tell me what's going on --"

"He's an Elixir Maiden."

Sondra's brow furrowed. "Huh?"

"You heard me."

"You're telling me that stud out there is a drag queen?"

"I thought you knew."

"No."

For the first time Mel looked a bit uncomfortable. "He's a really nice guy. The drag thing is just a job for him."

"Wow," Sondra murmured. No wonder she'd caught his scent all night but hadn't seen him. He'd been on stage in full makeup wearing a beaded gown and a wig.

"I should have minded my own business," Mel said, slamming her fist into her palm. "Zigor told me to keep my mouth shut, but did I listen to him? No. I had to be nosy. It's this hotel. Since moving here, I'm becoming as big a gossiper as members of the staff --"

"Mel, it's okay. I was bound to find out sooner or later," Sondra said, though she wondered if Richie intended to tell her before or after he took her to bed. Not that it should matter, but somehow it did.

Sondra strode out of the bathroom and approached Richie who sat at the table, finishing his drink.

"So you're a musician, huh?" She stood beside him and placed her hands on her hips.

He looked startled by her tone and said, "Yeah."

"Would you care to elaborate on that?"

"Elaborate?"

"Yes. Does the term drag queen fit in anywhere?"

He chuckled. "Oh, that."

"Yes, that."

He reached for her hand and squeezed it gently while gazing at her with those melting eyes. "I prefer the term female impersonator."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't think about it. Besides, you sat there for hours watching my show. For all I knew you were just being coy by pretending not to care that I'm a performer."

"Coy?" She wrinkled her nose.

"Obviously I was wrong. Does this change anything?"

She glanced down at their joined hands then back to his handsome face. He wore a hopeful expression she found most endearing and his delicious scent cried out to her. Lord, she longed to sink her fangs into his gorgeous throat, feel that hard, lean body against hers, this time without the barrier of clothes. Even if it was just for one night. She could hardly imagine an ongoing relationship with a drag queen -- not with a Creator like Nigel in her life, but that didn't mean she and Richie couldn't enjoy one night of unbridled passion.

"No."

"Good. Let's go upstairs."

I loved the drama that Kate Hill has been able to introduce to the book, the conflict of heart and mind.

It took some major convincing for Nigel to accept that Sondra, his vampiric daughter, is in love with a member of the drag queen band The Elixir Maidens. Nigel's super-conservative beliefs have frequently caused problems throughout his long life, but rather than risk losing Sondra forever he agreed to accept her cross-dressing fianci, Richie.

On the eve of Sondra and Richie's wedding, Nigel realizes that a drag queen son-in-law is the least of his worries. Richie's tall, dark and mysterious Creator, Daniel, appears unexpectedly at the reception and Nigel is faced with a long denied love that's stronger than ever. Only time -- and a little matchmaking from The Elixir Maidens -- will tell if that love is powerful enough to overcome wounds that have bled since the days of ancient Rome.

Excerpt:

In spite of his desire to stare at a man he'd always found most beautiful, Daniel kept his attention focused on everything except Nigel. Always impatient and a bit paranoid, Nigel was first to break the silence.

"Do you plan to stay in New York long?"

A wicked little smile on his lips, Daniel turned to him and said with mock innocence, "Are you talking to me?"

"You know damn right well I'm talking to you," Nigel hissed.

"I might visit for a bit."

"You're injured, aren't you? What happened?"

"My, my. Such personal questions from a stranger."

"Fine. Don't answer. I couldn't care less if you're dying."

"You've made that clear enough," Daniel muttered and took another sip from his glass.

"A man like you lives for trouble, so even if you found someone willing to care about you, it would be pointless."

"Contrary to popular belief, Nigel, there are people who care about me. And you? Have you found the perfect mate yet?"

"There's no such thing," Nigel snapped and glared at Daniel from the corner of his eye. "But I have enough companions to satisfy my every need, in case you're interested."

"I'm not." That much was true enough. He'd learned long ago to overcome any petty jealousy for a man who'd treated him with such unwarranted contempt.

"Now that I know you're his Creator, I can see why Richie didn't have a chance."

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?"

"It means no wonder he thinks it's perfectly acceptable to don makeup and skirts and sees no difference between male friends and male friends, if you get my meaning."

"It amazes me, Nigel, how a man can live so long and not progress. This is the fucking twenty-first century, not the bloody dark ages."
