GUEST AUTHOR INTERVIEW: CLAIRE THOMPSON
KH: What are your favorite genres to read and write?
CT: I love to read all kinds of genres -- general fiction, historical fiction, erotic romance, BDSM erotica. My favorite thing to write right now is male/male BDSM. I love putting myself into the heads of these men (not to mention the bodies, yum!) and trying to imagine what it must be like. Much of the emotional reaction to an intense D/s situation is the same, but with a mans perspective. I also enjoy m/m/f, with all the conflicts and sexy possibilities when two become three.
KH: What do you like best about writing romance?
CT: I like having things work out. I hate it sometimes when I invest a lot of time and emotion in a book and its characters and then, right at the end, sometimes it seems for no reason, wham, theyre killed off or leave. That infuriates me. With romance one knows, however bumpy the ride, the lovers will get there in the end!
KH: Would you tell us about your new book Binding Discoveries?
CT: Binding Discoveries is truly about discovery, really for all three of the characters. Its a BDSM ménage, though EC wouldnt let me bill it as a ménage, since Mark, who introduces Olivia and Tom to the intense sensuality of BDSM and ménages, ends up leaving them in the end to return to his own first true love, Lisette. The bulk of the book, however, deals in erotic detail with how Olivia and Tom come under the sensual spell of the very masterful Mark, going places sexually and sensually they never would have dared on their own. Lots of delicious D/s and m/m intensity, plus the real jealousies and difficulties that naturally arise when a third person is involved in matters of the heart.
KH: What are you currently working on?
CT: A new non-BDSM ménage a trois about a sexy Scottish wanderer named Kye who falls into the life of Cassidy and her on-again, off-again lover, Ian. Kye is one of those great listeners who can draw out anyone to tell their life story within minutes of knowing him. To top it off, hes sizzling hot with a libido match. Im only on chapter two at the moment, but the plan is for him to become involved with both Cassidy and Ian, first one at a time, creating the expected jealousies and confusion and unrequited lusts. . .but he will skillfully bring them around to a ménage, with all its explosive erotic potential.
KH: To you what makes a great romance hero?
CT: Strength coupled with utter honesty and a willingness to be vulnerable. A big cock helps too (laughing!).
KH: If you could meet one of your characters, which one would it be?
CT: Gosh, thats a hard one. I want to meet them all, especially the men. I think I would like to have dinner with Eric Mendez, my Dom hero in Golden Boy and Golden Man. I really like him as a Dom because hes authentic and deeply romantic. Hes very confident in himself as a Dom, but hes human and vulnerable. Hes able to pull back and learn from his lover, Johnny, without it compromising who he is a man. Of course, once he met me, he would stop being gay and immediately become my hot, sexy Latino lover! Hey, Im the author, I can make it happen.
KH: Do you have a website, blog, newsletter or email where readers can reach you?
CT: Yes, my website is www.clairethompson.net. I have a newsletter I send out about six times a year, filled with my newest releases, whats in the pipeline, what Im working on now and fun stuff like contests. If you wish to sign up, just stop by my website and click the button at the bottom of the home page. My email is Claire@clairethompson.net and I love hearing from readers. Ill always write back.
KH: Thank you, Claire!
CT: And thank you, Kate, for allowing me to by your guest author. It was fun!

EXCERPT FROM BINDING DISCOVERIES BY CLAIRE THOMPSON
The two of them stood before him, only in their underwear, nipples and cock hard. Mark clamped down hard on his rising desire, forcing himself to go slow, to give them time. "Hands behind your backs," he said, moving behind them as they obeyed. Quickly he snapped the clasps together, binding first Tom and then Olivia's wrists. In fact, if they tried, they could get the clasps open themselves. The bondage was more symbolic than anything, designed to heighten the sense of vulnerability, of submission.
He stepped in front of the pair, standing side by side. Giving in a little to his desires, he cupped Olivia's breasts, one in each hand, and lightly lifted and dropped them. Taking each nipple between forefinger and thumb, he squeezed gently, and then not so gently, watching her wince, pleased she didn't protest.
Next he moved to Tom, who was blushing fiercely but who made no protest as Mark slid his fingers over Tom's underwear, stroking the long, thick cock with one hand while he cupped his heavy, warm balls in the other. After a moment he let him go and walked to the couch.
"You both have pleased me tremendously," he said as he sat and faced them, dropping a hand at last to the rock-hard erection protesting beneath his trousers. "I see great potential for a very sensual, very intense exchange of power between us. Come here and kneel in front of me. I'm going to tell you what I expect of you, and what you can expect of me. If at any time any of this feels uncomfortable, you tell me. Don't wait until afterward and don't hesitate to be honest and open."
He waited while they both knelt before him, silently marveling that neither had said a word since entering the study. He'd expected Olivia at least to be babbling nervously, but she was silent except for the shallow breathing he knew stemmed from nervous excitement.
He put a hand on each of their shoulders, gently stroking them like favored pets before settling back against the sofa, fully in command. An unbidden image of Lisette, kneeling in exactly this position before him in their Paris apartment flashed before him, sliding like a knife into his heart. Again he willed the image away, focusing on the lovely pair before him.
"For today, we're just experimenting, feeling our way, me as much as you. Those toys I showed you," he waved toward the still-open cupboard, "are for me more symbols than tools. I don't use them often, and when I do, the object is to create a sensual rather than a punitive experience. Though I do consider myself sexually dominant, I'm not a sadist and I don't get off on giving pain for its own sake. But I do appreciate the intensity of well-delivered whipping." Olivia shuddered and Tom drew in his breath. They both had such sensitive, delicious potential. Mark struggled to maintain his concentration.
"If and when we do use these toys, it will be at your request and with a full understanding that though I will control the scene, you will control if we stop or continue. I don't believe in pushing a sub past his or her limits. I believe in listening, both to your words and your body. For me, it's ultimately about intensifying the sensual experience between us. I think you both have potential as sexual submissives, but I don't expect that to define our relationship. It's only a part of what you are, what I envision you can become."
They both looked so serious, as if attending a lecture by a famous professor, aware they would be quizzed afterward. Mark suddenly felt pompous and a little ridiculous. With a small laugh he stood, purposely breaking the intensity of the mood. Moving behind them, he released the clasps of their cuffs and pulled the leather from their wrists.
"I've been doing all the talking. Let's go down and unwind in the hot tub."
* * * * *
As the hot water frothed and bubbled over them, Olivia surreptitiously dropped her hand to her pussy, slipping two fingers into the slippery wetness. She'd felt somewhat let down when Mark had abruptly ended whatever it was that was going on up there in his study. Seeing those canes in the cupboard had made Olivia instantly cream in her panties, even as she shuddered at the thought of ever experiencing their fiery sting.
Since last night she had been obsessed with visions of the young woman at the club, the red, angry welts striping her flesh. She could still hear the woman's gasping cry just before the final, whistling blow had forced her from her calm acceptance of what surely must have been a very painful caning.
It wasn't that Olivia wanted to be caned, god no! She didn't herself understand why her attraction was so fierce and unremitting. She tried to accept Tom's assurances she wasn't a sick puppy but didn't quite succeed. Seeing the same cane, or at least one very similar, in Mark's cupboard of "toys" had taken her breath away. She could almost feel the sting of rattan against tender flesh as she touched the thin, misleadingly flimsy-looking implement. She'd sensed Tom's keen interest beside her, noting he focused on the cuffs.
Did it bother her that his interest veered alongside hers, submissive to Mark? She examined the question honestly and found she wasn't sure. She wouldn't have liked the idea of his submitting to her, but somehow with Mark it was a different matter. Mark seemed to command submission.
How easily he had transitioned from dominant lover to Dom, ordering them about in his study as if he were a king and they his subjects. His tone and attitude had brooked no disobedience, and it hadn't occurred to Olivia while in his thrall to protest. Nor, apparently, had it occurred to Tom. He couldn't hide his arousal, his sexy cock jutting hard against his underwear. He was as thrilled as she was with what was going on.
Tom slid closer to her, his hand reaching between her legs. She barely had time to pull her own hand away. He grinned at her as their hands brushed each other. Mark had poured them each a glass of cold Chardonnay. He sipped his, watching the pair with an indulgent smile as they snuggled and kissed.
"Talk to me," he said. "Tom, tell me your reaction to what happened in the study. Be honest. There is no right or wrong answer. Just tell me what you felt about it all."
"Well," Tom said, taking a drink from his glass. "You know I was turned on. I'm sure that was obvious." He gave a sheepish grin. "It's kind of strange because I've never thought of myself as submissive. I've never had fantasies involving scary-looking women in black corsets flicking bull whips and calling me a filthy little worm." He laughed.
"That's a rather banal stereotype surely," Mark commented, laughing with him. Sobering, he added, "That sort of thing has little to do with a sensual exchange of power. That's more about humiliation game playing. I never saw the appeal in that myself. I have a feeling your interests, what moves you, involves a relinquishing of control. You went straight for those cuffs," he added, his lip curling in a smile. Softly he continued. "Imagine yourself bound, your wrists behind your back or high over your head, your ankles tethered to the posts of a bed, unable to move, unable to get free, completely at the mercy of your lover."
Tom swallowed and looked down. Olivia knew Mark had struck a chord. She felt herself responding to the image as well, though in her mind's eye it was she, not Tom, bound and helpless. "And you, Olivia," Mark said, shifting his focus to her. "Take it a step further. Imagine yourself bent naked over a sawhorse, your wrists and ankles bound to the legs with rope. You can hear the whistle of the cane just before it strikes your ass, just before you scream"
"No!" Olivia burst out involuntarily. She felt at once hot and cold, her blood rushing from her head, suffusing her nipples, engorging her sex. "No," she insisted again, though less forcefully. "I don't want that. I don't want to be caned. I don't like pain."
"No, of course you don't," Mark said soothingly, his gaze intense upon her. "I was just creating an image. A fantasy. I'm trying to gauge what moves you, what excites you. I understand very well that isn't necessarily what you want to have happen to you. That's why it's called fantasy, you see." He grinned, releasing her from his dark, compelling stare. She smiled back weakly and felt for Tom's hand beneath the water.
"Now answer me as truthfully as you can," Mark continued. "As a fantasy, how does the thought of being tied down and caned affect you, Olivia? Is it something that might flash through your mind when you're making love?"
Olivia felt heat suffusing her cheeks. She stared down into the tumbling steamy water, the image he'd created swirling there like a vision. Something stirred deep inside her, like a fire banked that needs only a breath of air to set it blazing. She felt Tom's hand squeeze her thigh. She felt Mark's dark eyes watching her, daring her to deny it. With her heart beating high, slowly she nodded.
"Yes," she whispered. "Yes."

EXCERPT FROM MIRAGE BY KATE HILL:
![]()
From Changeling Press.
Without saying a word, he cupped the back of her head and his mouth descended upon hers.
Emilee didn't even think about protesting. This was her fantasy -- her mirage -- and she meant to enjoy it.
She placed her hands on his waist, relishing his warmth and solidity. His mouth moved sensually against hers and as the kiss became more real, he used the moist tip of his tongue to trace the shape of her lips.
Moaning softly with desire, she closed her eyes and parted her lips to his gently probing tongue. Her tongue met it and they teased each other with hot, wet strokes. He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her so close her breasts pressed against his hard, hair-dusted chest. Even standing in the water her temperature rose. This man felt wonderful, tasted delicious and smelled so good she longed to bury her face in his fiery hair or press her nose against his skin and let his scent fill her with every breath.
She slid her hands from his waist to his ass. Her fingers bit into the rock-hard spheres. What a gorgeous ass! She hadn't felt anything this good in come to think of it, she'd never felt an ass this good. And she'd never been this attracted to a male of any species. Reluctantly, her hands left that perfect ass to roam up his back. The muscles rippled beneath his flesh. He had such a tight, strong body. Being this close to him made her clit throb and her breasts ache with desire.
By the hard bulge in the front of his shorts, she aroused him just as much, but why not? It was, after all, her fantasy.
He broke the kiss and their gazes met. Looking into his eyes provided the same giddy, carefree sensation as being drunk on fine wine. He touched her face and the rough yet desirable feel of his callused palm against her flesh momentarily brought her back to reality. She'd been so certain he was a figment of her imagination but now she knew he was real. The caress of his breath against her, the gentle scratch of his beard when he'd kissed her and the expression of wonder and longing in his intoxicating eyes confirmed that he was no illusion, but a man as real and passionate as she was. By all the stars in the sky, she wanted him to fuck her.

SI: That you can let your imagination go. It's fun to see how different you can make the characters from what you've read.
KH: Would you tell us about your recent books A Fling in Vampiropolis and Tartan Surprise?
SI: A Fling in Vampiropolis is about Nevada, a woman, who decides to take a vacation to a vampire founded city where a person can brush elbows with creatures of myth and things that go bump in the night. On her next to last day she decides to go to a local bar and meets Lucian, a vampire. They end up having a hot fling. She starts to develop feelings for him. On her last day they end up having a fight. She doesn't think that she will see him again. But he ends up going 'Normalville' to get her back.
Tartan Surprise is about a werewolf, Iain, who is looking to take the edge off as the full moon approaches. He meets Katherine in a bar, who has been eyeing him most of the night. After a passionate kiss they go back to her hotel room where they have hot, steamy sex and in the morning he's gone.

KH: What's coming up next for you?
SI: Discovering Passion, which is Lida's story from A Fling in Vampiropolis.
KH: To you what makes a great romance hero?
SI: A great romance hero can be alpha, flawed and sympathetic.

EXCERPT FROM A FLING IN VAMPIROPOLIS BY SELENA ILLYRIA
A Fling in Vampiropolis
Selena Illyria
All rights reserved.
Copyright )2008 Selena IllyriaThe pub buzzed with life. Activity was everywhere in the bar, and this was where Nevada wanted to be. Taking a seat at the bar, she waited for the bartender to notice her. In awe of just how many bottles were stacked on the wall, she couldn't help but wonder how they got to the topmost. There was so much about vampires she didn't know. Did they really float, or was that a myth? Did they need to drink blood all the time or only once in a while?
"What will it be, miss?"
Startled, she looked up to find the kind-faced bartender looking her over. She blushed at his scrutiny. "I'll try the Silver Kiss, please."
He grinned. "One Silver Kiss coming up for the beautiful lady."
"Thank you."
"No thanks required."
She turned around to look over the pub. There were people playing pool and darts, standing around tables drinking or eating.
"Here you go, Blood Kiss, one Silver Kiss."
"Blood Kiss?" She took a sip of the clear drink in a martini glass and her eyes widened and her taste buds exploded. She could taste sweetness, fruit and something salty, and the afterburn of the alcohol was nice.
"That's what we call normals here -- Blood Kiss. It's an endearment."
"Oh." She blushed again.
"How's your drink?"
"Delicious! This is really, really good."
"A Silver Stake Pub specialty."
She slowly savored her drink and once she was done, she ordered another one, much to the bartender's amusement. "You can call me Shawn by the way, Blood Kiss."
"Okay, Shawn."
"And you can put all her drinks on my bill."
She shivered. Her nipples hardened as a man's voice cascaded over her body. She turned to the source of the sexy voice and her jaw dropped.
Standing right next to her was the most gorgeous man she had ever seen. He was tall -- had to be at least 6' 9" -- with long ash blond hair in a braid down his back. She could see earrings with a variety of feathers and hoops along his ear. His lips were sensuous and full, and he showed off a row of bright white teeth. He reached over and brushed back a strand of her hair. "I'm Lucian Sandros."
He had pale, hooded ice green eyes, and she noticed he had a faint tan. How did he tan? He was a vampire, right? He leaned forward and she inhaled the scent of pine.
"I like the sun just like anyone else."
His breath tickled her ear and she shivered. "You read my mind." She cursed herself for sounding so breathless.
"Are you asking or telling me I read your mind? And yes, if you're asking."
She jerked back. "Don't do that. Get out of my head."
"Nevada, interesting name."
"I said, get out of my head."
"Sorry, I just wanted to know your name."
"You could have asked." She turned back toward the bar, picked up her drink and took a sip.
He leaned forward, brushing back her hair over her shoulder, whispering in her ear again. "Would you have told me if I asked?"
"Maybe." She tried to ignore the way his nearness was making her crazy. Her stomach tightened, her panties were soaked, and her pussy clenched, wanting to be filled. Her body had never reacted this way.
"So where is your boyfriend this fine evening? Why would he let a beauty like you out on your own?"
"I don't need a man to escort me anywhere."
"So, you're single."
"I never said that."
"You don't have to say it."
"And why don't I have to say that?" She turned her head to find him only a breath away from her face. She jerked her head back but he leaned forward and kissed her.

EXCERPT FROM TRIPLE SHOT TRACY BY KATE HILL:
![]()
From Changeling Press.
Tracy looked forward to sitting by the fire, eating dinner then toasting the marshmallows she'd brought.
She was loading the wood into the back of her car when someone reached for the bundle in her hand.
"Let me help you with that, miss."
Tracy had been about to refuse, but the sound of that husky voice touched by a Texas accent made her tingle from head to toe. She looked up to see who that magnificent voice belonged to and found herself staring at the sexiest hunk of man she'd ever seen. Tall with thick black hair, five o'clock shadow and blue eyes that could turn a frozen lake into a hot spring, he left her momentarily speechless. All she could do was gaze from that handsome face to his gorgeous body. Snug jeans encased his long, hard-looking legs and a blue tank top showed off every chiseled muscle of his sleek torso.
Tracy realized she was staring at him like an idiot when he raised a black eyebrow and gave the wood in her hand another tug.
"Oh. Yeah. Thank you," Tracy said. Usually she'd have told any guy insinuating she needed help to get lost. She'd carry her own damn firewood. But this was a special case.
"Are you staying here?" he asked.
"Yes. That kind of explains why I'm buying the firewood," she said with a pleasant grin.
He chuckled. "Right. That was dumb of me. I guess if I want to start a conversation I should just introduce myself. Tripp Princeton at your service." He held out his hand and she slipped hers into it, loving how his handshake was firm yet gentle. His hand was warm but dry, the palm callused. Manly hands. Sexy hands. The kind of hands she wanted caressing her naked body.
Damn! Where were these thoughts coming from?
Tripp finished loading the other bundles of wood into her car, talking all the while. "I camp here a lot. How about you?"
"No. This is my first time," she said.
"Are you here alone?"
"Why?" she demanded, her self-preservation instincts kicking in even though for some unexplainable reason she felt like she could trust this guy implicitly.
Even worse, her attraction to him seem to be growing by the minute. It was like some kind of magic. She didn't even want to fight it.
"I'm sorry. I guess I'm really sticking my foot in my mouth today. I just wanted to know if you were married or have a boyfriend or anything like that."
"Should I be flattered or forewarned?"
Again he smiled, exposing his rather large white teeth. He had a slight overbite that she found cute. It was disarmingly childlike on his otherwise worldly face. His blue eyes shone like sapphires against his tanned skin and she felt like they were stripping her naked.
"Flattered," he said. "Definitely flattered."

GUEST AUTHOR INTERVIEW: JANE BECKENHAM
KH: What are your favorite genres to read and write?
JB: Oh, definitely romance, either contemporary or historical. Love time travel, which I suppose isnt a surprise given I write them too.
KH: Do you have any particular writing habits (listening to music, specific time of day to write, etc.)?
JB: No I dont listen to music, I like it to be reasonably quiet. I do write mostly in the early morning, sometimes getting up at 4a.m. but mostly about 6 a.m. But then Im known to write late into the night too.
KH: Would you tell us about your recent release, Love in Waiting?
JB: Love in Waiting started out under another title Heartsong. It is a time travel romance. When I was in England in 1994 I went on several tourist attractions that took you back in time York Story, and I think there was one in London. Ive always loved the history of the Tudors, and so when I decided to write LIW the time period was a given. However, that said, researching it was extremely difficult as so much was happening at the time. But the essence of LIW is a romance between two people who are torn between what they should do and must do to survive and whether love can withstand time. Originally the story had a different beginning and I wasnt happy with it. I left it for about 2 years then one day pulled it out on the computer and hey presto the new beginning was written literally in one day. To say I was relieved is a major understatement.
KH: What are you working on now and what do you have coming up?
JB: Ive just sold my 3rd book to Red Rose Publishing. Its a contemporary novella titled Desperately Seeking Santa. Its fun but again hinges on how our past so entangles our present and our future. Ive got an historical in London waiting on that one and a category in NY waiting on that one! - Also Im due to write a couple of novellas for RRP for a series, but .heck why cant there be say 30 hours in a day?
KH: To you what makes a great romance hero?
JB: They have to make me smile. When I was in the last edits of Hes The One I absolutely just fell in love with Cade Harper all over again. Hes gorgeously sexy, kind, and he drives a Mustang! What else could a girl want? Plus he offered to teach my heroine all about sex!
KH: If you could meet one of your characters, which one would it be?
JB: Oh, definitely Cade. But actually I love writing my men and would love it if they all came visiting. Each is strong, determined, and they need a good woman me, me, pick me! (Just dont tell my hubby!)
KH: Do you have a website, blog, newsletter or email where readers can reach you?
JB: My web site is www.janebeckenham.com. I do a newsletter and blog, but to be honest, I dont have a lot of time and so theyre very quiet. Smack my hand on that! Thats why I need more hours. Readers can email me at neiljane@ihug.co.nz I love hearing from them.

Wedding consultant Taylor Sullivan is sensible, successful, and creates fantasies for a living. Business is booming, but one thing is holding her backher lack of sexual experience. What Taylor needs is a good teacher!
Known for his talent in the bedroom and the long string of broken hearts that hes left behind Cade Harper cant say no to Taylors proposal, but as business turns to pleasure, the man who doesnt believe in lasting love finds himself falling hard and fast. But will fantasy come true?
Excerpt:
"Virginity is overrated," Taylor Sullivan pronounced, exhaling every pent up emotion she'd bottled for the past twenty-four hours. Ever since she'd seen him, Mr. Perfect-For-The-Job. Pivoting on her heels she gripped her assistant's arm. "This is a mistake."
"No, it's not. You said yourself, he's the one."
"What do I know? I mean, who is he?"
"Cade Harper. Bad boy made goodand one sexy hunk. Is that enough for you?" Nita gave her a suggestive grin.
Oh yeah.
Taylor wiped sweaty palms down the sides of her skirt. "The fairy godmother handing out good looks at his bassinet sure was kind," she said, remembering the handsome man who'd stood haloed by light streaming in from the stained glass window.
But now, twenty-four hours later as the throbbing beat of music threaded its way into the vestibule where she and Nita waited, Taylor's wayward nerves vaulted into overdrive.
"I should never have told you."
Nita shrugged. "Probably not, but, hey, I get those calls, too."
"But you can answer them," Taylor countered.
"So, what are you going to do about it, Taylor?"
Taylor bit down on her bottom lip, chewing it as if it afforded her the luxury of time. "I don't want a relationship."
"Who said anything about a relationship? This is a fling. A one-nighter. Get you past first base, so to speak."
First base! Taylor swallowed the lump that choked off her breathing. The icy chill that slid along her bones had nothing to do with Auckland's balmy May evening breeze.
Her fingers grazed the side of her handbag and snapped back as if scalded.
Condoms. An appropriate reminder: preparation and safety first.
She could do this. She could

EXCERPT FROM DOING THYME BY KATE HILL:

Available from Ellora's Cave.
Again he studied her carefully. A smile that could have been teasing or might have been cautious touched his lips and he nodded. "You're sure this is what you want?"
"I don't think I've ever been more sure of anything in my life," she said with heartfelt honesty.
He swept her into his arms quickly, taking her by surprise. Shrieking with pleasure, she grasped his neck and enjoyed the lift. He carried her to the bed and placed her on it.
Never had Thyme felt this alive with anticipation. Her head spun and she couldn't seem to control her breathing. One of Ross' knees rested on the bed while the other leg stood firmly on the floor. The position parted his towel and she got a partial view of his male attributes.
Feeling coquettish, she slipped a finger in the towel and tugged it off, baring a gorgeous, semi-erect cock, thick and well-veined. Its ruddy head with the tiny eye made her long to explore him with hands, tongue and lips. His balls were no less fascinating, heavy and faintly dusted with hair. Moistening her lips, she reached out hesitantly but stopped just short of touching him. Warmth from their skin created an invisible yet emotionally magnetic link between them.
When she glanced up to meet his gaze, his handsome face was taut with passion, his eyes almost glowing. He nodded and she took that as encouragement to continue.
Thyme took two contraceptive tablets from the container. She placed one in her mouth, then held the other out to Ross. His passionate gaze burned into her as he bent and took the tablet, and her finger, into his mouth and sucked. A little thrill of delight shot through her as his warm, wet tongue caressed her finger.
Unable to resist touching him any longer, she trailed her fingers along his staff with slow, feathery touches, then she curled her fist around it and pumped. Savoring his velvety flesh over thick, hard muscle, she stroked faster. His cock swelled and throbbed in her hand, yet he didn't move. Instead he allowed her to take her time exploring him.
The sight of his engorged staff tempted her beyond her limits. She tugged her finger from his mouth and moved from the bed to kneel in front of him. Clasping him in both hands, she swirled her tongue over his cock head and flicked it along the ultra-sensitive underside.
"Damn it, Thyme," he murmured, his hands roaming over her shoulders and finally burying themselves in her hair.
She felt the tension in him and heard his sharp intake of breath. His hips thrust against her exploring mouth. In spite of his obvious desire, he kept his movements as slow and gentle as possible. He didn't pull her hair painfully or pump too hard into her open mouth. Her lips slid over the bulbous, velvety crown of his erection and she sucked so deeply that he brushed the back of her throat.
"You're trying to kill me," he panted. "I don't know how long I'll last if you keep this up. You have the softest, sweetest lips."
In spite of how he filled her mouth, she smiled. Thyme moved her hands from his cock to his buttocks. The hard globes tightened against her palms as he thrust between her lips. She boldly slid a fingertip along the indentation and caressed his sphincter, feeling it throb and pucker as she explored.
Thyme continued sucking, licking and caressing until she knew by his ragged breathing and painfully clenching muscles he was about to explode.
Pulling back, she gazed up at him. His gorgeous necksmooth and pale, neither too thin nor too thickarched. With his eyes closed, the long, dark lashes rested starkly against his face. His finely-shaped lips parted, drawing sips of air. The rise and fall of his broad chest and the tightening of his muscle-ridged belly sent her desire off the scale.
She squirmed a bit, her clit aching. Running a hand beneath the waist of her pants, she dipped her fingers into her hot, wet pussy.
Ross opened his eyes, one hand clamped around the base of his cock in an attempt to keep his passion under control. His gaze flew to the stroking hand between her legs and he practically growled, "No way, lady. That's what I'm here for."
Before she could reply, he dropped to the floor and gently pushed her onto her back. He looped his thumbs in the waist of her pants and pulled them down, baring her pelvis and thighs.
Thyme hadn't bothered with panties, so her soft flesh and thatch of dark pubic hair came immediately into view. A hint of discomfort brought heat to her face, but the raw lust in his eyes washed away any embarrassment. It had been a long time since a man had seen her naked and never one as gorgeous as Ross Lovell.
"You're beautiful, Thyme," he said, lifting his gaze to hers.
A pleased, yet modest, smile flickered across her lips. "If you say so, I won't argue."
Ross pulled off her boots and socks, then removed her pants completely and tossed them aside. Sitting back on his heels, he took a moment to caress her legs. Warm, callused palms roamed over her thighs and calves. He took one of her feet in his hands and massaged.
Thyme's eyes slipped shut and she moaned softly. "That feels so good."
She had almost expected him to claim her fast and hard, sating five years worth of lust. Instead, he seemed prepared to take his time and make sure she enjoyed every moment.
He turned his attention to her other foot, his thumbs pressing against the arch before he stroked her from ankle to thigh. Pure delight washed over her, and in spite of his soothing caresses, her pulse raced with anticipation. He stretched out on his side and guided her legs over his shoulders.
"Ross," she breathed, clutching handfuls of his hair.
For several deliciously torturous seconds, his mouth hovered over her clit, his warm breath teasing it until a ripple of need coursed through her. He licked his lips, then covered her aching, delicate flesh with his mouth. His tongue flicked over her plump little nub and his lips tugged gently.

Noodlin' for Nadine
(paranormal)From Changeling Press.
Brady's number one pastime is noodling. He loves the thrill of catching magical catfish with his bare hands. Imagine his surprise when he's feeling for catfish beneath the waters of Hot River and gets a handful of womanly curves instead.
Nadine is just a water nymph lazing about in her favorite underwater cave when she feels a pair of pleasantly rough male hands rubbing her in all the right places. She knows this is too real to be a daydream. It's more like the man of her dreams has found her, but is their love strong enough to cross the boundary between water and land?
Sugar Plums
(m/m paranormal)Coming soon from Changeling Press.
Yule is here and it's an especially magical time at Hot River, unless you're Tarn. He's a grouch even for a Frost Giant and never fails to complain about the dismal winter mood being ruined by holiday cheer.
Old Man Winter has spent ages providing beautiful frosty weather but he's rarely allowed to join in the fun surrounding it. People look at him in fear and awe, never thinking he might want to join in the festivities.
The sulky frost giant stumbles upon the powerful, lonely and surprisingly passionate winter icon and Tarn finally learns just how enchanting the holiday season can be.

GUEST AUTHOR INTERVIEW: VICKY BURKHOLDER
KH: What are your favorite genres to read and write?
VB: Paranormal romance, fantasy, science fiction, and suspense.
KH: What do you like best about writing romances?
VB: The chance to explore relationships and that the entire book doesn't sit just on one person's shoulders. The hero and heroine share responsibility. :)
KH: Would you tell us about your latest release, Anticipation?
VB: It actually started off as a challenge. I belong to a very small group of writers (five of us) who kick each other's butts or offer support when needed. Last winter, we challenged each other to write something we'd never written before. In my case, it was contemporary erotica. (One of our members is a multi-published best seller in this genre). After I finished, they all told me how much they liked the story. I submitted it and when offered the contract, decided to go with a different name since this is such a different genre from what I usually write. I had so much fun doing it though!
Blurb: While growing up, Marielle Jameson's best friend was her neighbor Ben Carson. But Mari ran with the popular crowd and Ben was a nerd. Then life intervened and they lost touch. Now Ben is back, and he is most definitely not a nerd. Their reunion is hot, heavy and full of promise. Can Ben pull Mari out of the slump she's fallen into? And can Mari trust Ben not to break her heart? The answer to both is yes, although figuring out their future will take some work. But, as Ben says, "Anticipation is half the fun."
KH: What are you working on now and what is upcoming for you?
VB: I'm currently working on three fantasy type stories - two that take place in other worlds, other times and the third is contemporary urban fantasy. I also have a second paranormal anthology coming out with Draumr Publishing next February and we're working on the stories for that right now.
KH: To you what makes a great romance hero?
VB: A man who isn't afraid to love. Or be loved. Someone who is protective when necessary, but can let a woman be who she is without overpowering her. A great hero to me is a man who accepts the heroine as his partner.
KH: If you could meet one of your characters, which one would it be?
VB: Oh wow. Any one of them! I love them all. Well, the heroes and heroines - not the villains. :)
KH: Do you have a website, blog, newsletter or email where readers can reach you?
VB: I'm working on a new website so right now, it's tied to my blog: http://vickyburkholder.blogspot.com and they can reach me through there or at: vickyb@vickyburkholder.com. My web page, when it's up and running will be: http://vickyburkholder.com
KH: Thank you, Vicky!
VB: Thank you!

"Oh. My. God. Who is that with Sam?" Mari asked. A contender for a Playgirl centerfold waited across the street with Janie's husband. He looked a little familiar but surely that couldn't be Ben. Not skinny, geeky Ben. He had to be someone else. The stranger was easily six feet tall with broad shoulders that tapered to well-shaped hips. His dark gold hair curled softly around his ears and the nape of his neck. His jeans molded to his legs and the t-shirt he wore showed muscles in all the right places. As he waited, he stared in their direction. Mari had the strangest sensation he was looking for her and then he saw her. Even at this distance, she could sense his eyes going over her, studying her. Normally, she'd be uncomfortable with that kind of scrutiny but for some reason, his attention didn't bother her. Quite the opposite. Heat built in her body that had nothing to do with the afternoon sun.
"Now that guy is definitely drool-worthy," Mari whispered.
"What? Do my ears deceive me or is there a little life left in your loins?" Janie laughed at her.
"My loins are fine," Mari said.
"Your loins need screwing." Janie stood up and waved her hand. "Hey! Sam! Ben!" The men grinned and waved. When the light turned, they crossed the street to the women.
"Hi, Jane." The contender for the title of Adonis greeted them both but his eyes didn't leave Mari's face.
Ben? This was Ben? Mari was quite certain the temperature had just taken an enormous hike because she was certainly warmer than the weather warranted. The man was gorgeous. He had eyes the green of a summer forest. Deep and mesmerizing. She didn't remember his eyes being that shade.
Jane hugged Sam, then smiled at his friend. "Hi, Ben. I think you remember Mari."
"I do. Hi."
"Hi." Mari swallowed hard.
"Getting to know the town again?" Janie asked.
"Yeah. Thought I'd take a look around. Been some changes since I left but the basics are the same." His eyes held Mari's.
"You should let Mari show you around." Janie glanced at her watch. "Sam, don't we have that thing we need to go to?"
"Huh? What thing?"
She jabbed him. "You know. That thing."
"Oh. Oh, yeah. That thing. Ben, Mari, we've got to go. We'll see you later."
Mari waved her friends off, her eyes on the man standing in front of her.
"Mind if I sit?" Ben asked. His voice was like warm honey pouring over her. Something she wouldn't mind having him do to her--then licking it off. Sheesh, where had that come from? She hadn't had such thoughts in a long time. Too long. Was Janie right? Had her life become dull and predictable? Yep. No argument there. Even her job as a business and acquisitions attorney in a large legal firm sounded as boring as the reality was. What had happened to her dream to own her own business? To travel? To do anything?
"Sure. Would you like a drink or something?" Mari asked.
"No, thanks. I just finished an ice cream cone."
"Let me guess--peanut butter ripple from Greco's."
"Of course." He eyed her drink. "And that's an orange cream something, right?"
Mari laughed. "You remembered."
"I remember a lot of things about you. So, what's new around here?"
Oh god, she was in deep trouble. "Lots of things. Would you like to walk around?"
I'd also like to take you to the nearest alley and let you screw my eyeballs out.

EXCERPT FROM MOONLIGHT ON WATER BY KATE HILL:

Coming soon from Ellora's Cave.
For a long moment he stared at her, his expression unreadable. She nearly squirmed beneath his gaze.
Finally he said, "Ah. The madam has decided to take over as my personal secretary. I'll have to talk to her about that."
"This wasn't her fault," Moonlight said quickly, not liking the glacial look in his eyes. "I arranged this meeting behind her back and I have every intention of giving you what you paid for. Tonight I am an escort."
He smiled again, mocking this time. "Since you've gone through so much trouble, tell me what's so urgent that you'd trade your pretty human skin for it?"
"My mother was arrested in connection to the protest against reestablishing private ACT labs at the Laetez capital. She wasn't actually there, but is part of the activist group responsible for the riot. She's been sentenced to six months in prison on this planet."
"What do you expect me to do about it?" he asked. "I have no problem with activists, but riots are unacceptable."
"But she wasn't at the riot. I know enough about your career to be certain you're not in favor of reestablishing private labs," Moonlight continued, her stomach already in knots. She began to realize how stupid her plan was. Something told her this man was as impenetrable as a steel wall.
"Without discipline, where would we be, Moonlight Santos Gama?"
"What about justice?"
"If a criminal has been imprisoned, then justice is served."
"How dare a murderer like yourself preach about criminals?" she said, her temper finally snapping.
"Explain yourself."
"I'm talking about the capture of Blackstar Base during the Laetez-Draper war."
"That was unfortunate, but necessary."
"Necessary to kill hundreds of innocent--"
"I'm not here to defend my actions. You must learn the difference between murder and war, young lady."
"I know my closest friend was murdered in a war. She died on Blackstar Base."
"So is that your real reason for coming here?"
Moonlight blinked, her head clearing a bit. Her anger had nearly made her forget her plan. She closed her eyes for a moment, realizing she'd probably lost her mother's only chance for freedom.
"What do you mean?" she asked softly. "I told you, I want to know if you'll free my mother."
"And I told you I can't do that."
"You can, Sir. As a Superior, I know you have the power to help me."
"Why should I?" He leaned back in his chair. His long, slim hand, encased in a dark blue glove, caressed the flat buttons of the spec built into his desktop. "So far you've done nothing but annoy me and ruin an evening of relaxation."
"I said I'd act as your escort tonight."
"You loathe me. I see it in your eyes."
"Don't tell me a man who uses an escort service is looking for true love?" she said, then nearly bit her tongue. She needed to keep her temper in check.
"Of course not." He smiled again, then ran the tip of his tongue over the points of his upper canines. As if compelled, she followed the slow, seductive gesture with her eyes. "Interactions with escorts are meant to be empty of emotion. Not true in this case."
"I'll do whatever you want." She leaned forward in her chair, staring into his eyes and ignoring his horrible Tydisian features. "Whatever your escorts normally do."
"You're willing to sleep with a man you hate to get what you want?"
"Yes."
If he had eyebrows, they'd have been raised. "I'm impressed. Be flattered. I'm rarely impressed."
"Then you'll help me?"

FOR DOING THYME
I found the scenes were very hot, but also felt loving and sensual. I recommend Doing Thyme due to its three-dimensional characters and forgiveness-embed storyline.
- Francesca Hayne, Just Erotic Romance ReviewsSex between the two is positively combustible, and the emotion is tender, and the two add up to a very enjoyable read.
